Perez Hilton. I would love for that man to fall off our radar.

This will be the one and only time I will mention him on this blog.

I admit, that I am a fan of entertainment sites and gossip blogs. However, I find him repulsive. While, yes, most gossip blogs post pictures taken by paparazzi- he has a tendency to post pictures that others wouldn’t.

Case in point, today’s big story, where he posted an uncensored picture of an underwearless Miley Cyrus getting out of a car. As she’s 17, that image is by definition child porn. He took the picture down. By that time, the image was being spread across the internet, albeit in a censored form.

He also pushes to out celebrities that are in the closet. While I do believe that celebrities shouldn’t have to closet themselves for their careers, pushing someone out who might not have been ready to do so is abominable. Especially from a gay man.

Most people behind entertainment sites and gossip sites do it because they love covering the stories. He seems less interested in the stories, but more interested in making himself famous. After all, he went from being a little known blogger to one of the judges at the Miss USA pageant. And to make plenty of money off his website and new name. He shows up at red carpet events, not to cover it- but to be photographed as though he were a celebrity himself. Could he just disappear already?

Now. I’m not advocating that we just shake our fingers at Perez Hilton. Rather, we should ignore him from now on. I’m not saying that we should ignore what Miley Cyrus did. Instead, we should just ignore her, too. Yes, she started out as a pretty decent role model for kids. But her parents let her move into her own place with her 21 year old boyfriend (when she was 15), and set their eyes on morphing her from a tween star to a pop star who could attract an even larger fanbase. (If you think Miley behaves badly, you should see what they let her little sister Noah get away with) They aren’t likely to tell her that she needs to behave herself unless it starts to effect her ability to make them money.

So let’s ignore Miley, too. And maybe the world will be a nicer place.
