Yeah, I'm a big advocate of schools actually going back to teaching grammar and spelling. My mom was shocked to see that we weren't taught grammar and made sure that we learned it ourselves. My aunt and uncle felt similarly, and my cousins are all quite literate.

But my cousins-in-law? My husband has two cousins who couldn't win a 5th grade spelling bee, I think. Whenever I get texts or emails from them, I prepare to cringe.
